Sar El
Take the opportunity to join the over 85,000 volunteers from all over the world who since 1982 have spent three weeks living side by side with Israeli soldiers devoting their efforts to essential civilian duties and gaining more then they could have ever imagined.

Volunteers work and live with Israelis and other worldwide volunteers on army bases where they carry out duties that can be performed by civilians e.g. assembling gasmasks, packing medical supplies, etc.
  • Open to volunteers aged 18 and older.
  • Minimum of 18 days, an average stay is usually 3 weeks.
  • Weekends are free, events and excursions are included.
  • Accommodations are clean, and adequate.

Livnot U’Lehibanot
Experience the beauty and depth of Israel through all your senses, see how Judaism, nature and the environment connect, explore the depth and relevance of Judaism in classrooms and on cliff tops, wake up your spiritual side and allow yourself to grow by being involved in community work.

  • 2, 3 or 6-week program introducing participants to foundations of Jewish tradition through learning and work on building projects and in community services.
  • Short-term volunteer programs are also offered. Volunteers live in the Livnot building in Jerusalem and can choose from a number of different options around the city.
  • Program bases in Tsfat (Safed) and Jerusalem.
  • Ages 21-30.

Short Summer Ulpan on Kibbutz
(In addition see "Kibbutz Volunteers" in Long term programs for another short term kibbutz option)
A 7-8 week program that includes working on a kibbutz and Hebrew language study as well as trips, tours, workshops, seminars and lectures on Jewish history, geography and current events.

  • Tourists only, ages 17.5-28. Singles and couples without children.
  • Includes lectures, tours seminars and social events.
  • 15 hours per  week of Hebrew language study and 24 hours a week working on the kibbutz.

Isralight
The Isralight Institute provides a spiritual, eye-opening learning experience.

  • Explores the core values that should form the essence of Jewish life through intellectual and experiential avenues and offers a new look at your Jewish identity.

Summer Internship Program
The Summer Internship Program, organized by Yavneh Olami, offers religious students and recent graduates a chance to explore employment opportunities, experience working conditions, and make contacts.
Internships have taken place in such fields as Law, Journalism, Scientific Research, Medicine, PR, Computers, Politics, Speech and other therapies.

  • Includes Shabbatonim, tiyulim, weekly group dinners, meetings with newsmakers, learning programs, Shabbat with young Olim.
  • The program runs for six weeks in July and August

Wintership Program
Winter Internship Program for religious students, organized by Yavneh Olami.

  • The outline is similar to the Summer Internship Program but runs in January and February for students from Southern Hemisphere contries.

Yeladim Holocaust Children Memorial Educational Projects
A selection of short term visits and programs in Israel for Diaspora youth designed to instill a strong sense of Jewish identity, a commitment to the State of Israel, Jewish continuity and a sense of communal responsibility. There are programs for a variety of ages including eighth graders, high school students and post high school.  The Yeladim Association aims to strengthen Jewish education as a means of perpetuating the memory of the children killed in the Holocaust.

Schlesinger Institute Summer/Winter Program in Medical Halacha/Ethics
A program in Medical Halacha at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center which aims to develop advanced independent learning skills and provide in-depth lectures on medical-Halachic topics, bridging medicine, ethics and Halacha through text-based learning, case studies, hospital rounds, weekly group tours and activities, looking at topics such as allocation of resources, definition of death, genetic engineering and psychiatry.

  • Aimed towards medical students with a substantial background in Jewish learning.
  • There are winter and summer sessions.
  • The duration of the program is approximately 3.5 weeks but may vary.

Biblical Archaeological Society
The Biblical Archaeological Society organizes archeological digs throughout Israel. Particular interest is given to the religious aspects of archaeology in Israel.

  • The organization is based in Washington DC, USA.
  • Duration of programs vary, from a week to eight or nine weeks.

Kefiada
A three-week summer camp in your partnership 2000 region where participants work as counselors teaching English to Israeli kids in a fun relaxed atmosphere.

  • Help Israeli kids master basic English language skills, and provide them with essential tools that will help them get ahead in school and life.
  • Teach English in a fun, summer-camp setting with creative activities and summer-camp experiences.
  • For ages 19-25.
  • Help the Israeli children who need you most.
  • Live with an Israeli adopted family, on a kibbutz, or in an absorption center.
  • Make a meaningful contribution to the people of Israel.
  • Work with Israeli co-counselors and build lasting relationships with your Partnership 2000 region.

Amirim

Amirim is your opportunity to experience authentic Israeli life in the bustling Tel Aviv metropolitan area while giving back to the community through meaningful volunteer options.

Participants in the Amirim program are college students and young professionals (ages 18 to 35) who share rented apartments with other participants from North America and Israel and Volunteer four times a week for non-profit organizations of their interest.

Participants also enjoy cultural events, weekly group tours, hiking and free time for personal exploration. An Ulpan (intensive Hebrew learning) is also available.

Opportunities are available in many areas, among them: Soup kitchen, Animal rights, Children’s day camps, Peace promoting organizations, Women’s rights, Coexistence, Environment, LGBT community, Migrant workers, Israeli family planning and many more!
