We received a wonderful Bar Mitzvah visit at the end of last school year - a family arrived to Israel in order to celebrate their second son's Bar-Mitzvah and asked to visit one of the programs that work in Kiryat Shemona which receive donations from the Jewish people around the world.
This is how we met the lovely Schneiders from Chicago. We set up everything around the birthday-boy, together with a class of Olim from Ethiopia and their teacher, Yaffa Savti from the "Uziel" school.
The meeting included getting to know one another, a story about Bar-Mitzvah and realization of putting Tefilin by the school Rabbi, Yaniv Hakak.
In addition, the group of the Olim taught the family a traditional Ethiopian dance and in return, the family taught the Olim an English song with a dance. Both sides were excited and fascinated by these activities and ended the day with a smile on their face.
At the end of the tour, the family mentioned they are happy to see that funding through the Jewish Agency goes to such important issues and goals and they are taking this experience with them back home.
Thank you for coming to visit us!
